Description
Note: This is just the screen, you can place this in whatever prop or decoration you want from here
The clock has a 64×32 pixel (5”x10”) display powered by Adafruit’s Matrix Portal board and Circuit Python. NO EXPERTISE REQUIRED – you’ll go home with a countdown clock that you know how to set for Halloween each year, loaded with Halloween images. We’ll also learn to make our own images and add those to the clock so you can use it for other holidays if you’d like.
This project requires a free adafruit account and wifi access in order to check the adafruit online clock and run the countdown. We will be creating those accounts at the Gathering.
The kit includes the display, electronics needed to run it, and a USBC power cord that you can plug into any USB charger or battery to run it. It also includes a wooden frame to hold the display with a diffuser over the front (the diffuser improves the look over a bare display). We expect it will be somewhat weather resistant, suitable for being outside in sheltered areas like a covered porch. It’s big enough to read from the sidewalk at my house and Karen’s house (typical Salt Lake area suburban neighborhoods).
Includes:
- Display
- Electronics to run display
- USBC power cord (no wall plug)
- Wooden frame to hold display
